Queensland, Brisbane, was devastated by flash floods which swept in like a tsunami through the city; businesses, homes and cars were ripped up and swept down the street effortless by the raging waters. 15 people tragically got caught in the floods and sadly passed away, at the time over 60 people were reported missing but thankfully the all survived.
While the populous of Brisbane try and rebuild the drenched lives, the tourism sector and is pleading tourists not to cancel their holidays and that the hotels and beaches have been repaired/ restored to their former glory.

The flood has really changed the Queensland state so enjoy it while it lasts as it won’t be long before another heat way comes and burns the fresh vegetation and dry s up the river and springs
Vietnamese Culture

I was raised in London which is renowned for being the cultural hub of the world even though the many London people aren’t aware of the cultures which surround them. in 2009 i saved up like a stingy child so i could go travelling in 2010 to gather a greater understanding of the cultures i stumbled upon in London.
I live on a ground floor flat in London with an old cat called Dillon, I rarely saw my neighbours as they were very quiet and snuck around like mouse’s the only thing i knew about them was they were Asian. Dillon was a lazy cat who used to spend his days sleeping on sofa until he became very erratic to get out into the apartments corridor which lead me to believe that somebody was feeding him.
He was being fed by my neighbours on the floors above which ultimately got us talking and led me to take an interest into their secret lives; this changed my whole outlooks on Vietnamese people. It wasn’t long before i realised how gentle and peaceful these people are, which sprung the idea for me to go on Vietnam Holidays so I could grasp a little bit more about their reserved culture.
I discovered a new world in Vietnam and absolutely loved it, the country is so very different from the UK and way of life was generally alien to me. I spent the majority of my time in the northern mountainous region adventuring small farming villages.
The Vietnamese people never in seem to be in a rush or look stressed as they live their lives at a relaxed pace and seem to understand more about their world then western society do. The people have strong customs and morals especially towards visitors as I was made most welcomed by the villages I visited even though there was a superior language barrier.
I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday to Vietnam and I will certainly go back next year as I feel I didn’t even reach the tip of iceberg when it came to understanding the culture.

American Holiday Destinations Unsurprisingly Better Than UK Equivalents

It’s possibly the ultimate budgetary challenge: can UK tourists have the American holiday experience without leaving the British Isles? ‘No’ is the short answer. The longer answer is still an emphatic ‘no’ and you’ll find it below
Our first port of call for this deliberately unfair comparison of chalk and cheese: New York holidays.New York is the most populous city in the United States, a massive, bay spanning metropolis with countless recognisable landmarks. The sights of New York are among the world’s most significant, surely several would feature on a list of wonder of the modern world. The UN building, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty to name but a few.
Then consider that the UK has plain old vanilla York. A pokey little wool trading town that the world only knows to exist by association. Ok then, I concede that ‘Old’ York is quite the lovely Medieval town and this is a chalk and cheese comparison. But you know what? I don’t think it’s unfair to say that the majority of us love cheese and find very little room in our lives for using chalk. New York wins. Proceed!
Florida holidays. Florida is an extraordinarily important tourist site without an obvious UK parallel. The sun is reasonable enough on the southern coast, but what of the towns themselves? Take Brighton, which has always looked like a Town which has been left there by some drunken, forgetful giant. A famous yellow man once declared Florida to be ‘America’s wang’. Cornwall is the closest British alternative, but the similarities end abruptly there. The closest thing the UK has to Universal Studios? Alton Towers, the only reason a person could possibly ever find for visiting Staffordshire. No wait, I’ve found it. Florida has nice enough weather, nearby theme parks and lots of old people? Eastbourne.
What about Las Vegas holidays? The rather unflattering answer is surely Blackpool, which isn’t a place you ever want to bring to a comparison. Ther are Casinos. You’ll find (seasonal) illuminations. But to say the ingredients don’t quite mix is an understatement. Even if there are Bingo halls in Vegas, it’s difficult to believe that they’d be the form of nursing home that they are in Blackpool.

Illegal activities increased as these private vessels attempted to make a living. However, by the middle of the 18th century, the colonial powers had won and Piracy had been almost complete erradicated.
One town that appears again and again in pirate history and myth is Tortuga, an actual island off the shore of Haiti. Whilst it is still possible to visit the island, Haiti’s current problems in the way of the 2010 Earthquake may make this fascinating island undesirable for some. Kingston, Jamaica is perhaps primary among the alternatives. Nearby historical Port Royale is currently being developed as an expansive tourist site specifically to cater to tourists fascinated by 17th and 18th Century history.
