Rail Line Gets Another Chance

In a significant turn round in fate the Office of Rail Regulator (ORR), under the instructions from Lord Andrew Adonis have now confirmed they will place monetary funds into the Swindon to Kemble rail scheme.

During October 2008 the Office of Rail Regulator published their conclusion that the Swindon to Kemble scheme would not to form part of Network Rails production plan from 2009 through to 2014. In this amazing turnaround of fate for the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA) the British Government has now confirmed they will submit £900,000 to fund part of the engineering study that is essentially required to move the project ahead.

It now appears the Government has finally concluded the doubling of railway track throughout this important commuter route is in fact commercially viable enough and valuable founding connections between London, Gloucestershire and the South Wales area.

This will for the foundation of great news for many rail equipment suppliers and supporting industries in the area
