This is the season many people are looking for the next quick fix weight loss program. Without an understanding, they may lose the weight but guess what? It’s coming back. What is amazing to me is that some people will take better care of their cars than they do their health. When is the last time you heard of someone putting diesel in their gas burning car? If we only knew what the right things were.

Exercise is an essential aspect of getting back on track. Some may think they get enough exercise while working. For some this may be true, but for most of us it’s not. For good cardiovascular work outs, the activity needs to produce a heart rate of near 120 beats per minute for at least 20 minutes. If you are not getting that, you may need to consider adding 20 to 30 minutes a day of focused fitness training.

Our bodies have some fundamental requirements, many of us either ignore or just totally disregard those requirements. Example: The building blocks of our body functions, repair and renewal are amino acids. We need all 22 to be clicking on all cylinders. Eight of them are called essential, partially because they are involved in the creation of the other 14. Also because the body can not produce them. They must be taken in from your food intake. Arbitrarily eliminating foods that contain these nutrients is not wise.

You don’t have to be a scientist to figure out that there are some functions that are required by your body that will most likely suffer because of missing elements in your diet. The point here is to make arbitrary food choices without knowledge may not be wise. We need to understand the principles of fitness.

The problems of obesity no longer applies only to the middle aged women of our society. Increasing numbers of our young people are unhealthy. This is so evident by the numbers of young men and women that can not meet the minimum physical requirements for our military.

Economic conditions have forced many public schools to eliminate fitness training and sports. This leaves the burden on parents. I don’t have to tell you of the diets young teens adopt. So what do you do? Point them to a third party. They sometimes will listen to a total stranger before you.

As you can see,Unfortunately, every sector of our society is malnourished, under-exercised and unhealthy. Malnourished? Yes many are eating some of what they need and skipping much of what is required, thus for those nutrients they are malnourished.
