Crane manufacturers in the United Kingdom ended last year on a high with improved growth going into 2009 with a healthy order book of orders and a series of enquiries still rolling in.
Despite the economic collapse in the UK and the deep seated recession many UK industry sectors in late 2008, the British crane industry predominantly led by Krones enjoyed on average a twenty per cent growth in sales of new cranes not only to industrial consumers in the United kingdom but across the world, especially Europe and the African states.
Throughout 2008 the crane industry has continued its investment programme increasing production abilities by fifty per cent. Development is expected to continue through the coming year especially in light of a pickup in the heavy lifting gear industry and the building industry as recession dies down as hoped by many.
There is no doubt of a shrinkage in many industrial sectors in the UK, but out of such woe comes success for many others and the cranes and lifting gear industry appear to be fighting its way through the gloom quite successfully.
